Research Opportunities

  • Research positions are available for graduate research assistants enrolled in the PhD or MS programs of Biochemistry, Genomic Sciences, Biotechnology or other related departments. PhD students receive a graduate stipend, whereas MS students are unpaid positions.

  • Several undergraduate research positions are available to study protein folding and assembly of procaspase proteins. Students have the opportunity to learn protein purification techniques, molecular biology techniques (PCR mutagenesis, for example), biophysical techniques (fluorescence emission and/or circular dichroism), biochemical techniques (limited proteolysis, SDS-PAGE), crystallography, NMR, and a variety of other lab techniques. These are unpaid positions. Undergraduate students typically will use lab research experience for an honors research class, in lieu of BCH454, or for general interests. Those students who perform well will receive, upon request, recommendation letters for graduate, medical, or other professional schools.

Contact Dr. Clark to arrange an interview.
