NC State Biochemistry receives state and federal revenues, but these sources represent a fraction of the support required to maintain successful programs and facilities. Your donations will make the difference for our faculty and students to meet the global challenges of 21st Century:

- Enhancing the production, quality, accessibility and proftability of food, plant, animal and bioenergy products for North   Carolina, the nation and the world
- Ensuring environmental stewardship and sustainability of air, land, soil and water resources
- Creating a food supply that is safe, secure, healthy, affordable and of high quality
- Improving human health and well-being for individuals, families and communities and
- Preparing students and stakeholders for leadership and success in the global workforce.

Biochemisty Department Graduate Student Association

The Biochemistry Graduate Student Association (GSA) exists to create networking opportunities for biochemistry department graduate students with each other, with other members of the department, with other graduate students at NC State, and with scholars outside of the university such as visiting seminar speakers.

  1. Serve as connection to University Graduate Student Association (UGSA)
  2. Organize pizza lunches for all biochemistry graduate students with out-of-town seminar speakers
  3. Help organize departmental Christmas party
  4. Help plan and organize graduate student recruiting
  5. Plan Biochemistry graduate student parties (several per year)

  4. Science Olympiad demo and/or Chemistry Day booth -Possible demos include: X-ray structure PowerPoint presentation, crystals under a microscope, something with GFP, cell cultures using GFP to make the State logo
